The Lantern is not a vessel for public policy discussions. San Jose Inside does that well.
We do believe that Politicon Valley is the most underrated blog, and that Daily Fetch is the best and best presented news blog and public affairs blog around.
The Lantern is the cranky and oily lamp of Diogenes searching for truth, and when we cannot find it, we make it up as we write.
Yes, we believe in pissing people off. There are two many empty suits like Chuck Reed and Petey Campbell that seem to function as holders of body fluid rather than people of substance.
Vic Ajlouny is a walking pile of sludge and Armando Gomez is more like burnt cookie dough than a leader.
People like Buck Polk and Gary Gillmor are senators of the old school, charm, grace and generous. Dale Warner is like the kind uncle you have always with a desire to be of help.
David Cohen and Clark Williams are true community leaders as is Kathleen and Christian, while the staff of Catapult are among the nicest and smartest people around.
Jude Barry has a mind of steel trap, and if he was a chess piece, he would be a knight, always ready to manuver, capture, and catapult to sucess.
Ed McGovern is Patton and Bradley of Generals, ready to smash through and bring every resource for victory,
Rich Robinson is smart, but I think he is also funny and with a great sense of charm.
Robinson is the Bobby Kennedy of campaign managers.
We have the best city staff in the valley in Santa Clara, in the Bay Area with a city council and school board of great knowledge. Chad Walsh is a fantastic trustee and truly a trustee,
Only one person is the Lantern's number one, but Patrica Mahan is the number one for the city.
Pat Kolstad, Mohammed Nadeem, and Teresa O'Neill are great advocates as is Chris Stampolis and Anna Song.
Aside from Larry and Jerry Marsalli, Brian Lowery, and Jim Lee, Eddie Souza joins them as the true voice of city. Lisa Gillmor is not only the smartest business person in town, but the smartest person in politics.
Jamie Matthews truly is a great leader, and so is Miles Barber, and his writers, Robert Haugh and Carolyn Schuck.
Nancy McFadden of PGE was always my first great boss, and Catherine Tompkison Graham like Steve Preminger is a great person whom the Dalai Lama also blessed for their inner strength and creative voice.
It is a great place to be alive.
